A couple things about me:

Despite having lived in NYC and LA, I’m pretty “Midwestern”. Customers at a restaurant on the upper west side where I waited tables in my youth would inevitably say “You’re not from around here, are you?”

I ended up spending most of my career in Chicago where I did theater and voice over. Voice-Over!!!!? I didn’t know what that was when my agent asked me to record my first audition. Years later, when I was the live announcer for Oprah’s national speaking tour, I realized that I had been on a path to V/O all along—starting with the plays that I’d recorded on cassette tape and then made everyone at school listen. No….I didn’t have many friends as a kid. 😢

As an adult, I found my people. My husband, Robbie Fulks, is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and he lets me sing along…..on occasion. Nothing was more nerve-wracking than harmonizing with him at the Grand Ole Opry. You see, it’s a bit of a Lucy/Ricky situation…. That said, my unique style did help me corner the jingle market in Chicago in the “real person trying to sing” category. 🤣🤣🤣

One day, while waiting in the lobby of a recording studio, another actor who was new to VO turned to me and said, “If I’m doing this in 10 years, shoot me!” Several years later, I’m riddled with bullets…….and they keep coming!

I love V/O and have worked in almost every category. Since moving to LA, I have embarked on other genres: film and tv animation, audio books, game show announcing, dubbing AND more. I’ve had a storied career, but nothing has been more thrilling than, when meeting Oprah, I heard her say (in her OPRAH WAY): “You’re DOOOOOONNNNNAAAAA!”

Radio Imaging and TV Affiliate work are two of my favorite voice acting genres. For rates and availability in your market, please contact [email protected]
